WJOU 90.1 FM, licensed to Oakwood University, has continued its aim of providing good, family-oriented, and life-changing radio programming to the Huntsville community for 38 years. Our dedication to community service is an important aspect of that objective. As a result of that dedication, we hold an annual community health fair.
Praise 90.1FM has been broadcasting for the past four years. This annual health and wellness event is hosted by WJOU in collaboration with Good Samaritan Hospice. We will conduct free health screenings…from blood pressure to BMI…again on Thursday, October 26 at our Fifth Annual Community Health Fair, and we expect over 500 participants from the Huntsville and Oakwood areas. WJOU will broadcast “live” from the event.
WJOU’s aim is to change people’s lives via Christian music, spoken word, and community outreach. The mission of Praise 90.1 FM – WJOU is to share the Christian experience through radio broadcasting and digital media, to provide student training, and to promote Oakwood University in the community.
